Hola, I am Carlos, a UX / UI designer based in London (UK) who has gone through a career change during the last year. I am open to full-time collaborations in London, or remotely.

Why did I decide to become a UX / UI Designer?

As a Spanish journalist first and as a senior copywriter later, I have always been always very curious about my content performance, for both newspaper articles and marketing copy for new email campaigns. This curiosity allowed me to learn more about my audience. By having access to metrics, I could adapt my content to user needs and deliver a better product. Step by step, I had a chance to deep dive into metrics and find user patterns to then develop evidence based-solutions, resulting in new additions to the company roadmap.

And now what?

The thing that I like the most as a UX/UI designer is that it has allowed me to align many skills that were completely scattered in my mind. My experience as a journalist (writing, interviewing, researching amazing topics), my background as a senior copywriter (marketing, SEO, CRM, data analysis, design and / or project management) and my natural problem-solver skill has led me to reach the best professional version of myself.

Can you prove that?

Yes of course, deep dive into my Work section and you will find how I have applied the design thinking process to build a learning platform, a vocabulary app, a redesign to increase donations in an NGO site and a music app for music festivals (under construction). But, most of all, I am very looking forward for new challenges!
