Thanks for reaching the end of the case study, as promised, here are a few takeaways, including how to make a vocabulary app profitable.

Business Tips:

Slanguage can be also understood as a community with users who want to learn and teachers who want to share their knowledge in a particular language. Both interests can meet in an Extra section where learners can pay for private classes, while teachers can find an extra platform to promote their services. This content would be only available for premium members.

There is room in the app to promote language related services, such as: online events around current affairs in a specific country that will be available only in the language spoken in that country, guided tours in a city to practice the language, events to go to the cinema and follow a movie in the original version and / or different channels in the Chat section for specific languages. This content would be only available for premium members.

Personal Lessons:

While doing the research, one of the participants said the following: “I want to manage the app, I don’t want to feel managed by the app”. I have never seen a statement so user-centred, from now on I will apply this in any other project in the future.
